Best Rice Cooker
Finding the best rice cooker can be a tricky process because they cover such a wide variety of prices, features, functions and brands. If
you're just getting started in looking for the best one, how do you choose?
We recommend reading a lot of reviews at popular shopping sites, Amazon is our favorite. We have done a lot of the work for you and decided
that Zojirushi is definitely the best manufacturer, although their higher price points put them out of reach for some consumers. However, if you
want the best it comes at a price.
Zojirushi is top of the line for induction heating rice cookers, offering fast even heat that gives you consistantly perfect rice every time.
Take it a step farther and use the GABA setting to get additional nutrient benefits from your brown rice. Easy to read LCD screens, lock tight
lids and cool handles make this a convenient appliance in the home of fabulous chefs.
However, given their high cost we have found that some cheaper models are also an option if you want to get into rice cooking more slowly.
Panasonic, Sanyo and a variety of other stainless steel models are also a good option. They range in price from $25 to $150 depending on the how
many cups of rice they make at once, which features they have and how even the cooking surfaces are.
The Panasonic 10-Cup Rice Cooker/Warmer/Steamer with Domed Lid
This is a great option for about $75 and cooks 10 cups of rice at once. Volume is important if you're feeding a large group consistently. If
you're cooking for one this may be too big for your needs. It's strongest features include a domed lid which prevents water drops from falling on
rice, a 5-Hour keep warm setting will keep food warmer longer, a Non-Stick Coated Pan for easy cleaning, a moisture cap to
prevent boiling over and the automatic rewind cord for easy storage
Wolfgang Puck 10-Cup Rice Cooker and Steamer
This is price at $40 and is also a top seller at amazon. Also offering 10 cup cooking capacity it has a lot of great features for this price
range. The process is very simple, just add dry rice, measure in the water, and turn the unit on. Once the rice has cooked, this model
automatically switches over to "keep warm" mode, which maintains an ideal serving temperature without over-cooking. Consumers are using this to
make dishes such as pasta, risotto, jambalaya, and more. The removable lid holds in heat and moisture, while its nonstick removable pot
ensures effortless food release and easy cleanup.
